Matched up against Louisville in the Monday outing, the Wolfpack were demolished in the first half 56-36. Things didn’t get any better in the second half as NC State took a 62-41 deficit on the way to a blowout loss 118-77 in the end on the road. Ven-Allen Lubin led the team with his 20 points and six rebounds while Tre Holloman had 19 points with three rebounds in 30 minutes of work.

I’ll stick with Miami I suppose, but it’s a coin flip. The Hurricanes are coming off a nice win versus a very good North Carolina team, shooting 46.8 percent from the field with a 35-31 rebounding edge, a 46-28 advantage on points in the paint and just eight turnovers. The free throw shooting (14-of-23 for 60.9 percent) and 3-point shooting (3-of-13 for 23.1 percent) could have been better, but it was still a great victory. Miami has won four of the last five games with 74 or more points in all of them.

As for NC State, they hit the wall against a good Louisville team in their last outing. The Wolfpack shot 41.2 percent from the field and just 18.2 percent (4-of-22) from outside along with a 42-28 rebounding deficit. NC State also gave up a whopping 60 percent shooting from both the field and 3-point range (18-of-30). Still, the Wolfpack are 6-1 in their last seven games; I could see them powering one out here as well. It’ll be a fun matchup.
