Hampton Pirates Betting Preview
The Pirates have had a pretty wild year so far, with plenty of highs and lows among a near .500 performance for the season. Hampton opened on an 8-5 run overall with losses to George Washington, Providence, Norfolk State, Boise State, and High Point. The Pirates would lose to Charleston, Elon, Campbell, William & Mary (twice), UNC Wilmington, and Northeastern over the next nine games, with wins otherwise versus Delaware and North Carolina A&T. Since then it’s been losses to Monmouth, Drexel, and Towson among wins otherwise versos Howard, Northeastern, Drexel, Hofstra, UNC Wilmington, Stony Brook and Northeastern again. Overall that gives the Pirates a 17-15 record over 32 games during the 2024-25 campaign.
In Saturday’s game versus Northeastern, the Pirates came out of the first half with a 37-29 deficit. Hampton surged on a 41-28 advantage the rest of the way during a 70-65 comeback win. Top scorers George Beale and Noah Farrakhan each contributed 22 points. Xzavier Long added nine points with eight rebounds and two blocks, while Wayne Bristol had six points and two boards off the bench during the win.
UNC Wilmington Seahawks Betting Preview
Over on the UNC Wilmington side, it’s been a pretty steady run for them all season. The Seahawks opened up on a 12-5 run with losses to Kansas, Colgate, Howard, Towson, and Hofstra during that time. UNC Wilmington would hit a winning streak in January over Northeastern, William & Mary, Charleston, Hampton, North Carolina A&T, Stony Brook, Delaware, Drexel, and Charleston, then lost consecutive games to Elon and Hampton. Since then, however, it’s been three straight wins for the Seahawks. Those have come courtesy of William & Mary, Campbell, and Delaware, giving UNC Wilmington a solid 24-7 overall run through 31 games this year.
In the Delaware matchup last weekend, the Seahawks entered the second half with a 44-28 edge. UNC Wilmington cruised the rest of the way on a nearly identical 44-30 run and took the win in the end 88-58 in blowout fashion. Tops in scoring was Bo Montgomery with 23 points and six rebounds. Harlan Obioha added 16 points with seven boards, three assists, and two blocks, while Nolan Hodge led the bench scoring 12 points with four assists.

Hampton vs UNC Wilmington Prediction
I’ll stay with UNC Wilmington. The Seahawks drilled Delaware in their last outing (which was quite a while ago at this point), shooting 53.8 percent from the field with a 36-29 rebounding edge and 24 points off 17 Hens turnovers. UNC Wilmington had just eight turnovers themselves in a pretty disciplined performance. That gives the Seahawks three straight wins with 78 or more points scored in each.
These teams split the season series, with UNC Wilmington taking an 83-62 home win on January 25 and Hampton posting their own home victory on February 22 by a score of 83-70. In that latest matchup, the Pirates shot a nice 52.8 percent from the field and scored 18 points off 13 Seahawks turnovers. I’d like to see a tighter effort overall from UNCW this time. That said, Hampton is coming off a nice victory themselves and won’t be easy to topple.
