Hampton vs Georgia Tech Prediction

Georgia Tech is the more talented team and should win comfortably. Hampton is breaking in a new roster and simply doesn’t have the talent, player for player, to scare the Yellow Jackets. With that said, it’s still Georgia Tech. When have you ever wanted to lay double-digit chalk with Georgia Tech? The answer is probably never.

Georgia Tech is consistently a bottom feeder in the ACC and gets smoked whenever stepping up in competition even a little bit. Now Hampton isn’t stepping up in competition, but it’s still a program I’m not asking to win by a margin. Also, Hampton will be more excited for this game as it doesn’t get these chances on the big stage often. I’ll take a shot in the dark with the points.

Hampton Pirates Betting Preview

Hampton won 13 games last season and enters year three under coach Ivan Thomas. Hampton hasn’t made the big dance since the 2015-16 season.

Hampton lost a ton of production from last season, but Etienne Strothers is a nice returner as a senior guard who has shown he can score and assist. It will be interesting to see what he does with more minutes. Seth Hubbard comes over from Milwaukee, and Jayme Mitchell is a transfer from Jackson State. Hampton hopes it can take a step forward in the CAA, and with the newcomers, there’s a chance the offensive production improves. If Hampton can be in the middle of the conference this season, the Pirates should consider this a successful season.

Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Betting Preview

Georgia Tech won 11 games last season and now begins the Scott Cross era. Scott Cross has made the NCAA Tournament once since the 2010-11 season.

This is a brand new Georgia Tech roster as Kam Craft is considered the main returner after averaging 21.4 minutes per game last season. The Yellow Jackets hit the portal hard with Colby Garland from San Jose State, Nasir Whitlock from Lehigh, and Jackson Fields from West Virginia. A lot of moving parts make this an adjustment on the fly, and it doesn’t help being in a loaded ACC. Georgia Tech is always punching up and doesn’t have the talent to be taken seriously. Georgia Tech hasn’t won 20 games in a decade, but there’s hope with a coach who took Troy to back-to-back NCAA Tournaments.
