Florida Gators Betting Preview

The Florida Gators enter Wednesday’s game with a 21–6 overall record, including a rather impressive 12–2 mark in conference play and a 6-2 record on the road. The Gators have amassed wins over Miami, Florida State, North Florida, Merrimack and the Georgia Bulldogs while dropping games Arizona, Missouri and the Duke Blue Devils.

Earlier this season, in the Florida Gators 82-68 win over the Miami Hurricanes, Florida forward Malik Reneau compiled 22 points, 11 rebounds and 2 blocks showcasing his ability to lead the Gators frontcourt.

Florida is averaging 86.4 points (16th in country) on 47.3 percent shooting from the field and 30.1 percent shooting from beyond the arc per game. Defensively, the Gators are allowing opponents 71.2 points per contest.

Sophomore guard Boogie Fland is averaging 11.1 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2 steals per game. Junior forward Thomas Haugh contributes 17.3 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1 steal a contest. Junior center Rueben Chinyelu provides the Gators with further frontcourt depth averaging 11.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and 1 block per contest, while senior guard Xaivian Lee is averaging with 11.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.1 steals per game.

Why the Texas Longhorns Will Win

• Home court edge. Texas is 12–3 at home this season.

• Offensive firepower. The Texas Longhorns average 83.8 points (26th in nation) on 49 percent shooting from the field per game.

• Backcourt play. Sophomore guard Ja’Kobi Gillespie leads the Tennessee Volunteers with 17.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists and 1.3 steals per game.

• Interior presence. Sophomore center Matas Vokietaitis averages 16.1 points and 6.6 rebounds

Why the Florida Gators Will Win

• Defensive edge: The Florida Gators are allowing opponents 71.2 points per game. Conversely, the Texas Longhorns are allowing opponents 75.3 points per contest.

• Balanced scoring: The Gators have six players scoring over 10 points a game.

• Momentum. The Florida Gators arrive at tomorrow’s contest on a seven-game winning streak.

• Ability to win on the road. The Gators are 6-2 on the road in 2025.

Florida Gators vs. Texas Longhorns Prediction

This matchup features the Texas Longhorns explosive offense and strong home court edge against a Florida Gators team that arrives at tomorrow’s contest on the heels of a seven-game winning streak. Additionally, the Gators have played exceptionally well on the road (6-2). The Longhorns outstanding offense certainly gives Texas a path to victory, but Florida’s elite balanced offense and the team’s strong road record make the Gators difficult to fade in this spot. For the reasons just noted, I am backing the Florida Gators to cover the 6.5 points in this game.

Hans Geevers's Pick: Florida Gators -6.5
