Fairfield Stags Betting Preview
The Stags have had a rough season so far, and they’re currently several games below the .500 mark overall. Fairfield opened with a 5-4 run, then lost to Mount St. Mary’s, Central Connecticut, Monmouth, Columbia, Merrimack, Marist, and Canisius over the next 10 games. Since then the Stags are just 3-7 in their last 10 outings. The wins were over Marist, Rider, and Mount St. Mary’s. The losses otherwise came versus Merrimack, Quinnipiac, Iona, Sacred Heart, Saint Peter’s, Manhattan, and Sacred Heart again. Overall that gives the Stags an 11-18 overall run across 29 games so far this year.
In the Sacred Heart road rematch on Sunday, the Stags came out of the locker room with a rough 42-23 deficit. Fairfield didn’t get any closer than that during a 41-39 second-half run and took the loss in the end 83-62. Prophet Johnson managed a double-double in the defeat with 24 points, 13 rebounds, four steals and two assists. Braden Sparks added 12 points with two assists, and Peyton Smith had 12 bench points with two rebounds and two blocks in 12 minutes of work on the court.
Siena Saints Betting Preview
Over on the Siena side, they’ve been unable to win more than two consecutive games since their first trio of wins back in early November. After a rough 5-7 start, the Saints hit a 4-5 run with losses to Cornell, Manhattan, Sacred Heart and Mount St. Mary’s. The losses otherwise were versus Iona, Quinnipiac, Merrimack, Iona, and Marist. Since then it’s been a 4-4 stretch for the Saints. Those wins were over Quinnipiac, Saint Peter’s, Sacred Heart, and Niagara. The losses otherwise came versus Rider, Marist, Canisius, and Mount St. Mary’s. Siena now has a 13-16 record across their first 29 games of the 2024-25 campaign.
Matched up against Mount St. Mary’s on the road Sunday, the Saints came out of the locker room sporting a 37-35 deficit. Siena was outscored by four the rest of the way and ended up falling 85-79 in the end. Leading the team in scoring were Brendan Coyle (two rebounds; one assist) and Gavin Doty (seven rebounds; four assists; two steals), each with 20 points. Major Freeman added 15 points with six rebounds and four assists, while Justice Shoats had 10 points and five assists in 40 minutes on the floor.

Fairfield vs Siena Prediction
I’ll take a stab at Fairfield here, but there’s not a lot to like about this game. It should be fairly competitive, though. The Stags lost pretty badly to a middling Sacred Heart team in their last appearance, hitting just 4-of-21 (19 percent) from outside with a 41-28 rebounding deficit and 15 turnovers for 17 Pioneers points. Fairfield hasn’t been scoring great over their last five games; they’ve been under 70 points in each of those.
As for Siena, they were great from the line (14-of-14) and solid from 3-point range (13-of-34 for 38.2 percent) with just eight turnovers in their last loss to Mount St. Mary’s. The Saints couldn’t overcome 37.7 percent from the field and a 39-27 rebounding deficit, though. Siena has been scoring well lately with 79 or more points in four straight, so Fairfield has their work cut out for them on Thursday.
