Since then it’s been a 3-1 run with wins over Mount Marty, Northern Iowa and Wofford around a lone loss to DePaul. Over 12 games so far that gives the Shockers a 7-5 record this year.

In the Wofford matchup back on Wednesday, the Shockers entered the second half on a 41-29 edge. Wichita State closed on 43 more points and eventually took the win 84-73. Kenyon Giles put up 22 points with three rebounds and Dre Kindell added 19 points with two rebounds and two assists. Will Berg chipped in with 15 points and seven rebounds in the winning effort as well.

I’ll stick with Wichita State. The Shockers got ahead of a decent Wofford team early in their last outing and ended up with a double-digit win. Wichita State shot 49.1 percent from the field in that one with 30 rebounds and just eight turnovers alongside 7-of-20 (35 percent) from outside and 25-of-36 (69.4 percent) from the line. It was a nice offensive bounce-back after notching just 58 points in a three-point loss to DePaul last weekend. Wichita State has 70 or more points in five of the last six games, though.

As for EKU, they didn’t shoot great (37.5 percent) in their win over Jacksonville State but did well from the line (9-of-10) and had 36 rebounds along the way. the 13 turnovers didn’t help though, nor did the 26-16 deficit in the paint. The Colonels need to get that shooting percentage elevated if they’re going to hang around in cover territory here.
