The Detroit Titans and the Marquette Golden Eagles meet Friday in college basketball action from the Fiserv Forum. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game.

Detroit Titans vs. Marquette Golden Eagles Prediction

I’m leaning towards Detroit and the points here. I think Marquette’s rightfully favored, but being rightfully favored and laying too many points are two different things and both can be true. The Titans are likely falling here and doing so by margin, but this isn’t the kind of number I like laying with Shaka Smart and I think Detroit can cover with the boatload of points even if this is a Marquette rout. Give me the Titans.

Detroit Titans Recap

The Detroit Titans come into the 2026-27 season looking to build on a 17-15 mark in 2025-26, their first winning season since 2004 without having a coaches son on the team as the last few times had either Ray McCallum or Antoine Davis. Mark Montgomery enters his second season as head coach of the Detroit Mercy Titans with high expectations to elevate the program within the Horizon League following a competitive campaign last year. Calihan Hall serves as the home court where Detroit Mercy will lean heavily on a dynamic mix of key returners and high-impact newcomers to push the pace. Jordan Briggs leads the backcourt charge after transferring in from Division Two Wayne State, supplying 17.0 points per game, 3.2 rebounds per game, and 3.2 assists per game. He is joined by Elias Palsson, a sharp-shooting junior transfer from Division Two Augusta who puts up 16.7 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, and 1.4 assists per game while shooting an elite 39.6% from beyond the arc. Dante Favor anchors the frontcourt as a seasoned senior transfer from the NAIA ranks, racking up 15.3 points per game and a team-high 8.3 rebounds per game alongside 2.5 assists and 1.2 blocks per contest. Ayden Carter provides reliable perimeter scoring with 12.2 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game, while Tyler Spratt chips in 9.9 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game. Lance Stone runs the point with steady distribution, averaging 2.0 assists per game, while London Maiden and Je’kel Cotton add valuable depth in the rotation. With a revamped roster boasting potent scoring threats and efficient outside shooting, the Titans are poised to make serious noise in conference play and contend for the top tier of the Horizon League standings.
