Central Connecticut vs Temple Prediction

Central Connecticut has quietly become a winning program under Sellers, but it’s going to take time to build this year’s team with so much roster turnover. As for Temple, the Owls are as talented as they’ve been in years. Temple has a chance to be in the thick of the AAC this season.

A bit of a look-ahead spot for Temple with Richmond on deck, but the talent should overcome through 40 minutes. There’s a gap between these teams. I’ll lay the chalk with the Owls on Monday night.

Central Connecticut Blue Devils Betting Preview

Central Connecticut won 18 games last season and enters year five under coach Patrick Sellers. Central Connecticut has won 53 games over the last three seasons.

Roddy Jones returns after averaging 4.3 points and 0.5 rebounds, while James Jones averaged 4.2 points and 5.6 rebounds. Ashton Reynolds averaged 2 rebounds per game, and Daniel James played in 352 minutes last season. Central Connecticut says goodbye to its top five scorers from last season, so this is a new-look team, to say the least. However, Sellers has turned Central Connecticut into an underrated winner, so there’s a trust factor here. It wasn’t that long ago Central Connecticut couldn’t win double-digit games. I wouldn’t write off the Blue Devils just yet.

Temple Owls Betting Preview

Temple won 16 games last season and enters year four under coach Adam Fisher. Temple hasn’t made the big dance since the 2018-19 season.

Derrian Ford returns after averaging 18.1 points and 4.3 rebounds, while Gavin Griffiths averaged 10.1 points and 4.9 rebounds. Cam Wallace averaged 0.5 assists per game, and Mohamed Keita played in 105 minutes last season. Temple returns its top player from last season and has two double-digit returning scorers overall. There are also key transfers in Jordan Marsh, Deuce Drake, Dez White, and Baboucarr Njie. It’s been a while since Temple has been relevant, but there’s legit potential here. Temple should be in the thick of the American this season.
