Brown Bears Betting Preview
The Bears are coming off a 13-18 overall record a season ago, notching an 8-6 run in Ivy League games. Brown finished behind Princeton, Yale and Cornell in the standings. In the conference tournament the Bears beat Princeton before a loss to Yale in the championship.
Mike Martin is back for his 12th season as head coach at Brown. He’ll lose three players to transfer in Kalu Anya (St. Louis), Kimo Ferrari (San Diego State) and Malachi Ndur (William & Mary). Leading rebounder and second-leading scorer Nana Owusu-Anane is back, though.
Siena Saints Betting Preview
Over on the Saints’ side, they posted a rough season in 2023-24 with a 4-28 overall record and a 3-17 result in the MAAC. Siena finished in dead last place among the standings, one game behind Manhattan. A loss to Niagara in the conference tourney opener finished off the year.
Siena gets a new head coach in Gerry McNamara this year, and he’ll have a completely new roster. No one from last season returned, so guys like Myles Wilmoth (Hofstra) and Peter Carey (Syracuse) will have an immediate impact after transferring.

Brown vs Siena Prediction
I’m going to stay with Brown. The Bears were just seconds away from their first NCAA Tournament since 1986 last year, but suffered a tough breakdown late in the conference tourney championship. There’s plenty of talent left over from that team, including Owusu-Anane and Kino Lilly (18.8 PPG). The Ivy League will be competitive this year, but Brown should be in the mix.
As for Siena, they’re starting relatively fresh with a big roster overhaul in 2024-25. It’ll take a few games before we get a feel for the Saints’ fortunes this year, so I don’t think they’ll cover right off the proverbial bat.
