Arkansas-Pine Bluff vs Arkansas Prediction
Arkansas-Pine Bluff obviously doesn’t have close to the talent needed to keep things competitive. If this group plays with any sort of chemistry, the Razorbacks should take APB behind the woodshed. However, this is a lot of points for a young team that’s just been thrown together. Calipari teams usually get better as the season plays out and guys get used to playing together.
Also, Arkansas has Virginia on deck in the Skyscanner Capital Showcase, and there’s no doubt guys are peaking ahead to that one. Will that matter much given the talent gap? Possibly not. I’ll still take a shot with the points, as this is a lot of them. It’s Arkansas-Pine Bluff or pass for me.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff Betting Preview
Arkansas-Pine Bluff won 13 games last season and enters year six under coach Solomon Bozeman. APB has won no more than 13 games in each of its last eight seasons.
Arkansas-Pine Bluff saw significant roster turnover from last season but will be led by its guards in Jai’chaunn Hayes and Harrison Pickett. The noteworthy addition for APB is Creed Williamson, who spent two seasons at Little Rock and shot 54.9 percent from the field in 41 games. It’s been a struggle getting Arkansas-Pine Bluff over the hump, and this new-look roster will certainly go through growing pains. However, starting the season with Arkansas, Baylor, UCLA, and USC should make APB a battle-tested team once SWAC play begins. Arkansas-Pine Bluff should be ready to thump in a month or so after going through a gauntlet.
Arkansas Razorbacks Betting Preview
Arkansas won 28 games last season and enters the third season under coach John Calipari. Arkansas has made the big dance in five of the last six seasons.
Arkansas is extremely young and looks nothing like the team that made a run last season. Billy Richmond III is the main returner and should anchor the defense. Jordan Smith Jr. is the star recruit for the Razorbacks, as well as seven-footer Miikka Muurinen and lengthy forward Abdou Toure. It’s Kentucky all over again for Calipari, as he lacks the experience but has one of the top recruiting classes in the country. There may be growing pains out of the gate, but Arkansas will be a scary, talented team nobody wants to play if things come together later in the season.
