Alabama managed to go 7-3 in their first 10 games this year, losing to only Purdue, Gonzaga and Arizona. After wins over South Florida, Kennesaw State, Yale and Kentucky, the Tide have since gone 3-3 in their last six with wins over Mississippi State, Oklahoma and Missouri. The losses have come versus Vanderbilt, Texas and Tennessee otherwise, giving the Tide a 14-6 overall record.
In the Missouri matchup on Tuesday the Tide were sitting in the locker room looking up at a 42-29 advantage on the scoreboard. Alabama cruised the rest of the way with a 48-35 second-half run and took the blowout win in a home matchup 90-64. Latrell Wrightsell put up 21 points with five rebounds and two assists while Labaron Philon had 18 points with six assists and four rebounds.

Over on the Gators’ side, they limped to a rocky 5-4 run over their first nine games but they’ve since been playing much better. Florida won nine of the next 10 games over George Washington, Saint Francis, Colgate, Dartmouth, Georgia, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Vanderbilt and LSU. After a loss to Auburn and a win over South Carolina the Gators now sit at 15-6 through 21 outings.

Alabama vs Florida Prediction
I’ll try Florida here but you could call it either way; we should have a great matchup on Sunday. The Gators blasted past a middling South Carolina team in their last outing, hitting a scorching 62.3 percent from the field with a 40-19 rebounding advantage and a 54-20 edge on points in the paint. Florida held the Gamecocks to just 25.9 percent shooting from the field and 15 percent (3-of-20) from outside in the blowout win. That makes six wins in the last seven games for the Gators, who have scored 79 or more points in all of those victories and 91 or more points in five of them.
As for Alabama, they did well against Missouri this week thanks to 88.5 percent (23-of-26) from the line and just seven turnovers. The Tide got beaten on the boards 41-39 and in the paint 44-20, but there was a bit of garbage time at the end of the game. Alabama is 3-1 in their last four outings with 83 or more points in each of those victories. We should have a high total here if the trends hold.
