UTSA Roadrunners Betting Preview
The Roadrunners have only played a dozen games so far this year, which isn’t quite as many as most teams in the country. UTSA kicked things off on a 1-3 run with a win over Trinity TX and losses to Bradley, Little Rock, and Troy. A 5-2 run came afterward. Those losses were to Saint Mary’s and Arkansas; otherwise, it was wins over Merrimack, Houston Christian, North Dakota (twice), and Southwestern Adventist ahead of a loss to Army last weekend for a 6-6 record overall so far this season for the Roadrunners.
Matched up against the Knights on Sunday, the Roadrunners came out of halftime looking at a 39-35 deficit. UTSA got better in the second half on a 40-39 run but fell short in the end 78-75. Tops in scoring was Primo Spears with 22 points, nine boards, and three assists. Tai’Reon Joseph came off the bench to contribute 16 points, three rebounds, two assists, and two steals in 30 minutes, and Raekwon Horton added 15 points, seven boards, and three steals.
Tulane Green Wave Betting Preview
Over on the Tulane side, they opened up the year with four wins in five games. The lone loss came versus Furman. Otherwise, it was wins over Louisiana Christian, Louisiana-Monroe, Alcorn State, and Bethune-Cookman. A losing streak ensued versus New Orleans, Wyoming, Belmont, SE Louisiana, and George Mason, followed by a 3-1 run. The loss in that quartet was to Florida State. The wins otherwise were over Southern Miss, Dillard, and Charlotte.
In the Charlotte game on New Year’s Eve, the Green Wave came out of the break looking at a 34-27 advantage on the scoreboard. Tulane kept it up in the second on a 49-41 run and took the win 83-68 as time expired. All five scorers were in double-figures in the victory. Leading the charge was Kaleb Banks with 21 points, five boards, two steals and two blocks. Rowan Brumbaugh added 19 points with three assists and three steals. Asher Woods added 16 points with three rebounds and three assists, while Kam Williams chipped in 13 points and eight boards.

UTSA vs Tulane Prediction
I’m going to take a stab at Tulane. This should be a pretty interesting matchup overall, though. The Green Wave took care of a .500 Charlotte team pretty well in their last outing, shooting 47.4 percent from the field with 31 rebounds and 13 team assists alongside just eight turnovers. The 17 49ers turnovers for 21 points certainly helped as well. During this 3-1 run, Tulane has notched 83 or more points in all three wins, with 64 in the lone loss against Florida State. The Wave had been below 68 points in four straight outings prior to that, so scoring will be very important in this one.
As for UTSA, they took a tough loss to a 6-6 Army team in their last outing, posting a tepid 41.7 percent shooting with 15 turnovers (of 34 total) during a sloppy game overall. The Roadrunners stayed pretty competitive on the boards and shot well from the line on 18-of-21 (85.7 percent). UTSA has hit 75 or more points in four straight games (a 3-1 run), so it wouldn’t be a surprise to see a fairly high total here. I like Tulane to eke one out cover-wise, but it’s something of a coin flip.
