Iona Gaels Betting Preview

The Gaels lost five of their first six games this year, falling to Princeton, Hofstra, Delaware, West Virginia, and Cornell in that time. After a win over Tarleton State, Iona fell versus Indiana State and Rice in their next pair.

I’ll stay with Sacred Heart. The Pioneers managed a tepid 41.8 percent shooting from the field in their win over Boston, but also hit a nice 46.4 percent (13-of-28) from 3-point range and 14-of-16 (87.5 percent) from the line. That makes 70 or more points in three of the last four games and six of eight games overall.

As for Iona, they shot just 35.5 percent from the field with 15 turnovers in their last game against a pretty decent Rice team. The Gaels have been below 69 points in six of their last seven outings but should be able to score reasonably well here if they’re on point. In the end, however, I like Sacred Heart a little better cover/win-wise.
