Edmonton Elks Betting Preview
The Edmonton Elks were 7-11 last year and they finished with 14 points, which was last in the West Division. The Elks finished 10 points behind the Roughriders for first and they were six points behind the next closest team. Edmonton scored 422 points last season, but they allowed 490 points against. The Elks started the season by losing six of the first seven games, but they did win four of the next five, before finishing the season with a 2-4 record in the last six games. Edmonton played decently well on offense towards the end of the season, as they scored 24+ points in eight of their last ten games. This year, Edmonton will have Cody Fajardo back at quarterback, who played pretty well after taking over after their 1-4 start last year. Fajardo made plenty of plays, but he also took quite a few sacks, so the offensive line needs to be better. Justin Rankin will be one of the most important pieces to the offense, but they do have a few big play receivers. On defense, Edmonton brings back a lot of their production from last year, but that isn’t necessarily a good thing, as they allowed a ton of points in the 2025 season.
Ottawa Redblacks Betting Preview
The Ottawa Redblacks went 4-14 last season and they finished with just eight points, which was last in the East Division. Ottawa was 14 points behind Hamilton for first in the East, but only finished two points behind the Argos. The Redblacks started the season by losing six of their first seven games, before going on a brief two game winning streak, and ending the season with eight losses in their last nine. Ottawa scored 417 points last season and they allowed 537 points against. The Redblacks didn’t have much to celebrate in the 2025 season and they allowed 26+ points in nine of their last ten games. This season, Ottawa will have Dru Brown back at the quarterback spot, but he has been plagued by injury and availability is definitely a concern. The Redblacks did bring in Greg Bell at the running back spot and their wide receivers are solid, but all focus will be on the offensive line, as they try to keep Brown healthy. On defense, Ottawa needs to show improvement after allowing a ton of points last season. They look like they could be improved, but we need to see some results early in the season.
