In this article we will formulate a Blue Bombers vs Redblacks prediction for this CFL game on Sunday, July 19th at TD Place Stadium in Ottawa, Ontario. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this CFL matchup.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers Betting Preview

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers are 3-2 this season after they defeated the Argonauts by a score of 30-21 last week. Winnipeg led 19-7 at halftime, but only 19-14 in the fourth quarter, before they scored 11 points in the fourth to seal the win. The Blue Bombers out gained Toronto by a total of 406-351, went 12-23 on second downs, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 3-1 in the game. Dru Brown threw for 339 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, while Ontaria Wilson caught 10 passes for 133 yards. Brady Oliveira rushed 16 times for 69 yards in the game.

Prior to that game, Winnipeg defeated the Tiger-Cats by a score of 14-13 and lost to the Elks by a score of 23-18, and they are currently third in the West Division. The Blue Bombers have scored 23.8 points per game with 282.0 passing yards and 93.2 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 24.4 points against per game this season. Dru Brown has thrown for 339 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, while Ontaria Wilson has 20 catches for 311 yards and two touchdowns. Brady Oliveira has rushed 69 times for 375 yards and one score this season.

Ottawa Redblacks Betting Preview

The Ottawa Redblacks are 0-5 this year after they lost to the Elks by a score of 40-17 in week six. Ottawa trailed 16-7 at halftime, but only 16-14 in the fourth quarter, before they allowed 24 points in the final quarter for the ugly loss. The Redblacks were out gained by a total of 537-337, went 10-21 on second downs, and lost the turnover battle by a total of 4-1 in the game. Jake Maier threw for 293 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions, while Ayden Eberhardt caught 11 passes for 155 yards and one score. Greg Bell rushed seven times for 19 yards in the loss.

Prior to that game, Ottawa lost to the Roughriders by a score of 27-22 and lost to the Alouettes by a score of 37-35, and they are currently last in the East Division. The Redblacks have scored 23.8 points per game with 280.4 passing yards and 57.2 rushing yards per game, while they have allowed 35.4 points against per game this season. Jake Maier has thrown for 1,372 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions, while Ayden Eberhardt has 28 receptions for 377 yards and two scores. Greg Bell has rushed 36 times for 133 yards this year.

Blue Bombers vs Redblacks Prediction

Ottawa comes into this matchup looking for their first win of the season, but they have allowed 35+ points in three of their last four games. The Redblacks have had major issues at the quarterback spot and they are facing Dru Brown for Winnipeg, who they traded this year. Winnipeg is 3-2 through five games and they have allowed 23 points or fewer in three straight. The Blue Bombers have had some trouble putting up points as well and they are on the road. I don’t trust the Ottawa offense at all and I think Brown will be looking to embarrass his old team. Take Winnipeg to cover here.

David Racey's Pick: Blue Bombers -5.5
