Utah State Aggies Betting Preview
This year the Aggies got started with a matchup versus Idaho State. In that one Utah State was down 19-17 heading into the final quarter but didn’t score again in a 29-17 loss. QB McCae Hillstead was 15-of-30 for 178 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. Leading the rushing attack during the loss was Javen Jacobs with 20 carries for 80 yards.
In last weekend’s Washington game, the Aggies fell just shy of a big upset. Utah State was down 10-7 heading into the final quarter and added another touchdown from there but it wasn’t enough in a 16-14 loss. QB Grady Brosterhous was 17-of-28 for 196 yards, two scores and three picks while also leading the rush with 21 carries for 81 yards along the way.
Utah Utes Betting Preview
Over on the Utes’ side, they got their season going with an easy opener matchup versus Idaho. Utah asserted their dominance in that one, scoring double-digit points in every quarter (including 21 in the fourth) for a 66-14 win. QB Devon Dampier was 13-of-18 for 176 yards and three scores. LaMarcus Bell led the rush in the victory with 87 yards and a TD on seven totes.
Matched up against Arkansas last weekend the Utes managed to bag a whopping 22 points in the second quarter alone. Utah ended up scoring in every period during a blowout victory at home 43-10. Dampier went 18-of-24 for 261 yards, two scores and a pick while also rushing in two TDs. Wayshawn Parker added 10 carries for 53 yards and two scores of his own.

Utah State vs Utah Prediction
I was going to lean toward Utah but I think there’s enough room for the Aggies to get in there. This should be a fun matchup regardless. The Utes blew right past Arkansas last weekend to the tune of 442 yards (301 passing), 7.1 yards per play and 24 first downs. Utah gave up 305 yards on the other side (61 rushing) and just 4.0 yards per play. That gives the Utes a combined 109 points in two games, but this may be their toughest matchup yet.
As for Utah State, they almost pulled off a stellar road upset versus a very good Washington team. The Aggies could only muster 14 first downs though, and added a trio of interceptions. Utah State will have their hands full here once again, but if they play well I could see this one being relatively competitive.
