The UCF Knights and the Pittsburgh Panthers will meet Saturday afternoon in a non-conference matchup at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Let’s take a look at this matchup from a betting perspective.

UCF Knights Betting Preview

The UCF Knights finished the 2025 season with a 5-7 overall record (2-7 record in Big 12 Conference play) and a 5-7 record on the road. UCF struggled to find consistency throughout the 2025 regular season resulting in the Knights missing a bowl game.

The UCF offense was average throughout the 2025 season. The Knights scored 24.3 points per game and averaged 378.8 total yards per game, including 220.8 passing yards and 158 rushing yards. UCF displayed a balanced offensive attack but often struggled to finish drives against quality opponents.

Shifting our focus to the defensive side of the football, the UCF Knights allowed 23.6 points per game and 348.5 total yards per game, including 185.1 passing yards and 150.7 rushing yards. The Knights played respectable defense throughout the 2025 season.

Pittsburgh Panthers Betting Preview

The Pittsburgh Panthers finished the 2025 season with an 8-5 overall record (6-2 record in ACC play) and a 4-3 record at home. The Panthers exceeded expectations last season and finished near the top of the conference standings under head coach Pat Narduzzi. Narduzzi enters his 12th season with the program in 2026.

The Pittsburgh offense was productive throughout the 2025 season. The Panthers averaged 33.7 points per game and compiled 390.5 total yards per game, including 273.3 passing yards and 117.2 rushing yards. Pittsburgh ranked among the better passing offenses in the ACC while scoring more than 33 points per contest.

Defensively, Pittsburgh allowed 24.8 points per game and 330.4 total yards per contest. The Panthers were particularly stout against the run, surrendering only 1,236 rushing yards across 13 games and just 2.72 yards per rushing attempt.

The Pittsburgh offense features quarterback Mason Heintschel and wide receiver Cataurus Hicks. In last week’s season opening win over Miami (OH), Heintschel amassed a massive 453 passing yards and 7 passing touchdowns, while Hicks compiled a team leading 5 receptions, 114 receiving yards and 1 receiving touchdown.

UCF Knights vs. Pittsburgh Panthers Prediction

In my opinion, the way to go in this matchup is the total rather than a side. Why? The UCF Knights and the Pittsburgh Panthers played respectable defense last season. Additionally, both teams played quality defense in the first week of this season, as the Panthers and Knights won in week 1 rather easily. Yes, I know that the quality of opponent was far from elite, but I think the 57.5 points over/under is rather high, so I see value in the under here. With that said, I am backing under 57.5 points in this game.
