Matched up against Western Carolina for game two, the Bearcats were up by a modest 14-10 margin midway through the second quarter. Cincinnati got it going from there however, pouring in the points on the way to a 62-10 blowout victory. French was 21-of-24 for 245 yards and a pair of touchdowns this time, and Payne led the rush again on 12 carries for 102 yards and two scores.

Give me Cincinnati. The Bearcats took a little while to really get going in the win over Western Carolina but eventually showed their stuff. Cincinnati only gave up 13 first downs and 2-of-12 on third-down tries defensively. On offense the Bearcats rolled with 32 first downs and a whopping 690 yards—including 418 rush yards. The only real gripe was the 11 penalties for 105 yards. If Cincinnati plays like that again they’ll get another big win here.

As for Miami-OH, they were no match for Holy Cross. The RedHawks gave up just 10 first downs and 181 total yards while the offense bagged 25 first downs and 201 rushing yards. This weekend will mark a dramatic uptick in competition however, and I don’t think Miami-OH will get it done.
