The Phoenix Suns and Portland Trail Blazers meet Wednesday in NBA action at the Moda Center. Here’s a Phoenix Suns vs. Portland Trail Blazers Prediction. This article will include a Phoenix Suns vs. Portland Trail Blazers Pick.

Phoenix Suns Betting Preview

The Suns won 45 games last year and made the playoffs, and now they enter the second year under coach Jordan Ott. The Suns have made the playoffs in five of the last six years.

The Suns made some decent moves by adding Miles Bridges and Luke Kennard, and said goodbye to Grayson Allen and Royce O’Neale. The Suns will be tougher defensively and have more consistent scoring from the outside. A full season of Devin Booker and Jalen Green will be fun, while Bridges and Dillon Brooks will be a headache defensively. You can do worse than this Suns roster, but in a competitive and deep West, others outside of Booker and Green will need to shoulder some of the offensive load. The Suns haven’t won a playoff series since the 2022-23 season.

Portland Trail Blazers Betting Preview

The Trail Blazers won 42 games last year, ended a playoff drought, and now begin the Micah Nori. Letting Tiago Splitter walk was a surprise, but here we are nonetheless.

The Blazers made the splashy move by trading for Ja Morant, and he’ll be paired with the return of Damian Lillard. It’s an interesting backcourt, and we’ll see if they can add to this youthful group that turned heads last season. A group of Deni Avdija, Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe, and Donovan Clingan clinched a playoff spot last season, and you don’t want to mess that up with a veteran influx. Hopefully, the Blazers can build on what they did last season rather than slowing the development of players. Either way, the Blazers will be worth staying up for as this roster is intriguing.

  • The Trail Blazers have lost six of their last seven season openers.

Phoenix Suns vs Portland Trail Blazers Injury Report

The Trail Blazers will be without Branden Carlson, Shaedon Sharpe, and Chris Youngblood. Deni Avdija is questionable with ankle soreness. Micah Potter is questionable with an illness.

The Suns are without Mark Williams due to shoulder surgery. Luke Kennard is questionable with a knee issue.

Phoenix Suns vs Portland Trail Blazers Prediction

The Trail Blazers have a lengthy injury report which includes Sharpe and Avdija, but the core of this team is still available, and that includes major additions in Ja and Lillard. I’m fairly high on these Trail Blazers, assuming the backcourt gels. The Suns have a depth issue, and I don’t love seeing Kennard on the injury report. We’re not being asked to lay anything crazy. Again, I like the Trail Blazers to build on what they did a year ago. I’ll probably be on this team a lot. I’ll lay the bucket with RIP City.

Randy Chambers's Pick: Portland -2.5
