The Detroit Pistons have been on fire to start the season as they’ve won 15 of their first 17 games and they will be looking to build on their current 13-game win streak after sneaking past the struggling Pacers in a 122-117 road win on Monday. Cade Cunningham led the team with 24 points, 11 rebounds and six assists, Caris LeVert added 19 points off the bench while JAlen Duren chipped in with 17 points and 12 rebounds. As a team, the Pistons shot 50 percent from the field and nine of 25 from the 3-point line as they dominated from the start and poured in 71 points in the first half to take a 19-point lead which proved to be just enough in the end as the Pistons saw their lead cut to just two points with 15.4 seconds left before they escaped on free throws from Cunningham.

Boston Celtics Betting Preview 

Meanwhile, the Boston Celtics have been in fine form as they’ve won four of their last five games overall and they will be eager to keep it going after taking down the Magic in a 138-129 home win on Sunday. Jaylen Brown led the team with 35 points and eight assists on 14 of 26 shooting, Anfernee Simons added 23 points on eight of 11 shooting off the bench while Payton Pritchard chipped in with 19 points and eight assists on nine of 16 shooting. As a team, the Celtics shot 60 percent from the field and 15 of 33 from the 3-point line as they caught fire early with 48 points in the second quarter to take a 26-point lead before they survived a late rally from the Magic who cut their lead to just six points at one stage.

The Pistons are still missing Marcus Sasser and Bobi Klintman, while the Celtics have ruled out Neemias Queta and Jayson Tatum. These teams last met on Oct 26 and it was the Pistons who won by 119-113  despite falling into an early 17-point deficit. The Celtics will be out for revenge and they’ve been building momentum over the last five games, but it’s the Pistons who open as favorites given that they are one of the hottest teams in the league right now. The Pistons were unconvincing in their narrow win over the slumping Pacers on Monday, but I think they can take down the Celtics again and I like them at the short line in this spot.
