Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Preview
The Cleveland Cavaliers came into this series with plenty of confidence, but they didn’t get off to the start they wanted and are now looking to bounce back after getting beaten by the Pistons in a 111-101 loss in Game 1 on Tuesday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 23 points on nine of 19 shooting, James Harden added 22 points with eight rebounds and seven assists on six of 15 shooting, Max Strus added 19 points off the bench while Evan Mobley chipped in with 14 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two blocks. As a team, the Cavaliers shot 45 percent from the field and 14 of 38 from the 3-point line as they got off to a nightmare of a start and had to work hard to claw their way back from an early 18-point deficit to tie the scores late in the fourth quarter, before they went ice-cold and scored just eight points in the final 5:27 to allow the Pistons off the hook.
Detroit Pistons Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons will be feeling growing in confidence after outlasting the Cavaliers in a crucial win on Tuesday. Cade Cunningham led the team with 23 points and seven assists, Tobias Harris added 20 points with eight rebounds while Duncan Robinson chipped in with 19 points. As a team, the Pistons shot 44 percent from the field and 10 of 26 from the 3-point line as they exploded for 37 points in the first quarter to open up an 18-point lead, but they allowed the Cavaliers all the way back into the contest and the game was up for grabs until the Pistons closed the final 4:50 on 18-8 run to draw first blood in the series. It wasn’t the most clinical of wins as they should’ve won comfortably after getting off to a quick start, but they were solid on defense when it mattered most which will only give them more confidence.

The Cavaliers are keeping an eye on Sam Merrill who is a game time decision, while the Pistons have listed Kevin Huerter as questionable for this one. The Cavaliers will be kicking themselves as they could’ve stolen Game 1 if not for their slow start in the first quarter. Turnovers were an issue for the Cavaliers all night and the worst culprit was Harden who racked up seven turnovers while shooting just one of seven from the 3-point line. The Pistons were a little lucky to get away with the win on Tuesday, but they got the job done with Cunningham having to carry the offense which is a good sign. I think we’re about to see another close game, so while I am tempted to take the Cavaliers who should get a bounce-back performance from Harden, I prefer the more consistent Pistons with the short line at home.
