The Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers duke it out at the Rocket Arena on Friday night.
Philadelphia 76ers Betting Preview
The Philadelphia 76ers have been on fire as they’ve won eight of their first nine games and they will be eager to build on their current five-game win streak after sneaking past the Pistons in a 112-106 road win on Wednesday. Jaylen Brown led the team with 30 points on 11 of 19 shooting, Joel Embiid added 26 points with 15 rebounds, Tyrese Maxey scored 19 points with seven assists while LeBron James tallied 13 points with 10 rebounds and eight assists. As a team, the 76ers shot 45 percent from the field and nine of 24 from the 3-point line, but this win was set up by their effort on defense as they restricted the Pistons to just 42 points in the first half to open up an 18-point lead in the third quarter which was more than enough to hold off the Pistons who left their run too late.
Cleveland Cavaliers Betting Preview
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Cavaliers have cooled off from their hot start to the season as they have now lost three of their last four games and they will be hoping to bounce back after falling short to the Thunder in a 124-116 road loss on Wednesday. Donovan Mitchell led the team with 27 points and six assists on 10 of 17 shooting, James Harden added 19 points with nine rebounds and six assists while Evan Mobley tallied 16 points with 10 rebounds and three blocks. As a team, the Cavaliers shot just 43 percent from the field and 19 of 49 from the 3-point line as they got off to a terrible start and allowed the Thunder to open the game with a 25-9 run. The Cavaliers chipped away at the deficit and they were eventually able to cut the deficit to just six points before they ran out of time.
Philadelphia v Cleveland Free Prediction
The 76ers are still missing Dominick Barlow and Adem Bona, while the Cavaliers have ruled out Jaylon Tyson with Tyrese Proctor, Peyton Watson and Jarrett Allen all listed as questionable.
These teams last met on opening night and it was the 76ers who won by 114-106, rallying all the way back from a 29-point deficit to kick off the season with a bang. The 76ers have barely missed a step since that meeting, they are almost fully healthy and it’s no surprise they open as favorites against the Cavaliers who are reeling from back to back losses to the depleted Thunder. The Cavaliers will turn things around sooner or later, but they are just too banged up right now for me to back them against this red-hot 76ers squad.
