Update (2:43 PM) - Juan Soto has tested positive for COVID-19, so we need to make some adjustments. Moving some things around and now we got Mookie in the lineup! Image is updated. Good Luck!
Hi Everyone!
The time has finally arrived! MLB Opening Day is here (seems so weird to say that on July 23rd…haha).
We have a two-game slate tonight with the NYY at WAS & SF at LA!
In terms of the weather, we have some concerns in the NYY at WAS game, however, currently the percentages of precipitation currently sit around 20-25 so we do want to keep a watchful eye on that game. Wind will be blowing out lightly to right-center in both games.
Let’s take a look at our DraftKings lineup:
DON’T FORGET TO CHECK OUT OUR MLB FANDUEL LINEUP FOR TONIGHT!!!
On the mound, I’m going to go with Max Scherzer & Clayton Kershaw.
Although the Yankee offensive lineup is tough, I think Scherzer has some of the best K-upside on tonight’s slate and I just like the value he brings compared to Cole at his $10,000 price-tag.
Kershaw is going to probably be owned by almost every team as he by far has the best match-up on the slate against a less than average San Francisco Giants lineup. Kershaw might not last long in this game as I’m sure the Dodgers will be careful with him on opening night, especially if the Dodgers get out to a quick lead, however, there is no way we can’t go with him at his $7,700 price-tag.
Like the rest of the world, we’re going to be stacking the Dodgers and we’re going big with a 5-man stack of Max Muncy, Justin Turner, Corey Seager, & Mookie Betts.
Gerrit Cole is arguably the best pitcher in the game, however, he is no stranger of giving up HR’s and to differentiate our lineup a bit, I’m going with a 3-man stack of Nationals in Eric Thames, and Juan Soto.
Rounding out the team, I needed to get some value to be able to afford my Dodgers stack so I’m going with a few of the low-priced Giants that should see starts tonight in Tyler Heineman who should be starting with Buster Posey opting out of the season and Darin Ruf who looked outstanding in his limited spring straining (.429 average in 32 AB’s).
I’m expanding my MLB database and trying to streamline it better. I’m hoping by the beginning of next week, I’ll have more stats/data in the writeups!
