Utah Valley vs Weber State Prediction

I’ll lean toward Utah Valley here but it’s close. The Wolverines took care of Western Colorado pretty easily in their opener win this week, shooting a cool 49 percent from the field and 40 percent (6-of-15) from outside. Utah Valley held the opposition to just 32 percent shooting from the floor and had a 40-40 tie in rebounding but also played a pretty sloppy game with 20 turnovers along the way. (The starting lineup contributed half of those.) The Wolverines really need to focus on ball control in this matchup, which will be quite a bit tougher.

As for Weber State, they took a blowout loss in a tricky matchup against Oregon State during their opener. The Wildcats shot just 30 percent from the floor, 17 percent (6-of-35) from 3-point range and 58 percent (7-of-12) on free throws. Weber State gave up 49 percent shooting to the Beavers and got outmuscled on the boards 54-40. The good news is that Weber State will match up much better in game two and should put up a solid showing.

Utah Valley Wolverines Betting Preview

Last season the Wolverines had a pretty successful campaign overall but didn’t excel in tournament play. Utah Valley went 25-9 with a 14-4 run in the Western Athletic Conference for a regular-season championship. The Wolverines beat TX-Arlington in the WAC Tournament opener then lost to Cal Baptist in the championship. In the NIT, Utah Valley took a loss to George Washington in the first round that put an end to their season.

This year Utah Valley has one game in the tank so far. That one came on Monday against Western Colorado at UCCU Center in Orem. The Wolverines didn’t have too many issues winning 84-63. Leading the way was Isaac Davis with 22 points, four rebounds, three assists and three steals. Dominick Nelson added 16 points with five rebounds and four steals, while Braden Housley had eight points, five rebounds and four assists.

Over on the Weber State side, they had a pretty middling year in 2025-26 on a 16-16 overall record. The Wildcats were 10-8 in Big Sky games, putting them behind Portland State, Montana State, Eastern Washington, Montana and Northern Colorado in the standings. Weber State lost to Eastern Washington in the first game of the Big Sky Tournament on March 9.
