I’ll stick with the Bonnies but you could call it either way. St. Bonaventure rolled right past Rhode Island in a road victory this week, hitting a very nice 55.9 percent from the field with 45.5 percent (10-of-22) from outside and a 32-24 rebounding advantage. The Bonnies added a 40-26 advantage on points in the paint as well. St. Bonaventure needed the win, as they’d been on a three-game losing streak and had dropped five of the previous six.
These teams last met up back on January 31 in a 77-73 home loss for the Bonnies. In that one St. Bonaventure shot a very nice 55.1 percent from the field but also gave up 55.4 percent shooting on defense. The Bonnies were out-rebounded 28-18 and hit just 56 percent (14-of-25) from the line. St. Bonaventure will need a much cleaner effort in the road rematch.
