Michigan State vs UConn Prediction
I’ll lean toward Michigan State. The Spartans shot well (47.3 percent) from the field in their win over Louisville over the weekend, adding 42.3 percent from outside and a 34-29 rebounding edge alongside 41.3 percent shooting allowed on defense. Michigan State did have 14 turnovers, which was just about the only glaring statistical folly in the victory. That gives the Spartans 76 or more points in eight of their last nine games—a 7-2 run.
As for UConn, they didn’t have too many issues with UCLA in their Second Round win, hitting 46.9 percent from the field with just 38.8 percent shooting allowed on defense. The Huskies held a 34-23 rebounding advantage and a 30-20 edge in the paint but did cough up 15 turnovers. UConn is 4-1 in their last five games, scoring 73 or more points in three of those wins. They’ll serve as a formidable challenge for the Spartans.
