Over on the Alabama A&M side, they kicked off the year on a 3-3 run with losses to Indiana, Clemson and Coastal Carolina mixed with wins over Blue Mountain, Charleston Southern and Lindenwood. It’s been a 3-2 stretch since then with losses to Lipscomb and Ole Miss. The wins otherwise were over Tennessee State, Arkansas Baptist and North Alabama. In the Ole Miss game on Wednesday the Bulldogs limped into the second half on a 44-29 deficit. Alabama A&M put up 37 points the rest of the way and ended up losing 80-66 in the end. Sami Pissis led the way on 17 points with five assists and four rebounds in the losing effort. Kintavious Dozier had 15 points with five rebounds, and Koron Davis had 14 points with three boards.

I’ll stick with Alabama A&M but you could call this one either way. The Bulldogs dug themselves a hole in the first half of the Ole Miss game and couldn’t climb out. Alabama A&M ended up shooting 43.1 percent from the field with 9-of-18 from 3-point range but did get outmuscled pretty significantly in the paint 34-18. The Bulldogs gave up 54 percent shooting to the Rebels as well. That makes fewer than 69 points in four straight games for Alabama A&M, so I’d like to see them eclipse 70 points on Sunday.

As for Chattanooga, they imploded in the second half of their latest game versus a middling Bellarmine team and ended up shooting just 32.8 percent from the field with 21.7 percent (10-of-46) from outside. The Mocs also got out-rebounded 37-29 in the defeat. Chattanooga is just 1-4 in their last five games but they’ve hit 70 points in three of the last four.
