UConn Huskies Betting Preview
The Huskies lost two of their first three games this year, falling in OT versus Syracuse and Delaware. Since then however, UConn has just one loss (in OT versus Rice), taking eight wins otherwise. Those victories have come versus Ball State, Buffalo, FIU, Boston College, UAB, Duke, Air Force and Florida Atlantic. That gives the Huskies a solid 9-3 overall run through 12 games this year.
In the FAU matchup back on November 22, the Huskies were up 24-3 after the first quarter but gave some of that lead away in the second. UConn ended up scoring in every quarter (and giving up points in every quarter as well) during a 48-45 win. QB Joe Fagnano had a 33-of-46 line for 446 yards and three scores while Camryn Edwards led the rush on 101 yards and two scores from 16 carries. Skyler Bell added eight grabs for 125 yards as the team’s lead receiver in the victory effort.
Army Black Knights Betting Preview
Over on the Army side, they’ve had their ups and downs this year. The Knights opened the year on a 1-3 stretch with a lone win over Kansas State in that time. Army got it together on a 5-2 run over the next seven outings though, losing to only Tulane and Tulsa. Otherwise it was wins over UAB, Charlotte, Air Force, Temple and UTSA in that time. That would give army a 6-5 run over their first 11 games of the year.In the big matchup with Navy on December 13, the Knights were down early but fought back for a 16-10 edge going into the fourth quarter. Army gave up a TD from there however and lost a tough one 17-16. QB Cale Hellums was 5-of-10 for 82 yards and a pick while also leading the rush with 25 carries for 100 yards and a score. Noah Short led the receivers with three catches for 51 yards in the defeat.

UConn vs Army Prediction
I’ll stick with UConn. The Huskies are coming off a tight win versus a struggling FAU team, giving up a whopping 687 yards, 494 pass yards, 7.9 yards per play, 37 first downs and 8-of-15 on third downs along the way. UConn gained 600 yards themselves however, with 31 first downs and 6-of-13 on third-down tries. The 10 penalties for 105 yards didn’t help matters, though. UConn averages a nice 36.9 points per game this year with 300.5 pass yards per game, 30 pass scores and just one pick. On the ground the Huskies have 159 yards per game with 24 total scores. By the time they hit the field in this one however, UConn will have been out of action for over a month. That will likely be beneficial to Army.
Speaking of Army, they very nearly shocked a great Navy team in their last outing. The Knights could only muster 202 yards though, with 120 rush yards, 11 first downs and 3-of-10 on third-down tries. Army is going to want to keep this one as a low-scoring, run-first game as well. If they can keep UConn off the field with some better first-down totals, the Knights could give UConn some trouble here.
