The New York Knicks and Boston Celtics are set to renew their storied rivalry in the Eastern Conference Semifinals of the 2025 NBA Playoffs. Game 1 is scheduled for Monday, May 5, at 7:00 PM ET at TD Garden in Boston.

The Celtics, boasting a 61-21 regular-season record, swept the Knicks 4-0 during the regular season. The Knicks are coming off a hard-fought six-game series against the Detroit Pistons. The series promises to be a competitive and emotional matchup, with both teams aware of the high stakes and the rich history between the franchises.

Jayson Tatum Over 27.5 Points

Tatum is averaging 26.8 points per game, ranking fifth in the league. His scoring was complemented by 8.7 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game, reflecting his all-around contribution to the team’s success. Tatum’s shooting efficiency included a field goal percentage of 45.2%, a three-point percentage of 34.3%, and a free throw percentage of 81.4%. He scored 35+ points in the last 3 games of the Celtics series against the Magic. He also had a lot of success scoring the ball when playing the Knicks during the regular season. I expect Tatum to have another big night in game 1 of this series.

Josh Hart Over 10.5 Points

Josh Hart is averaging 13.6 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game, while shooting an efficient 52.5% from the field and 33.3% from three-point range. Hart picked things up later in NY’s series against the Pistons, scoring 13+ points in games 4-6. He’ll get the looks to be able to clear this number of 10.5 points. I thought oddsmakers would’ve set his line higher with the impact he has on this Knicks team.

Derrick White Over 14.5 Points

White is averaging 16.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game, while shooting 44.2% from the field, 38.4% from three-point range, and 83.9% from the free-throw line. I was surprised to see White’s line this low. He scored 16+ points in every game but one in the Celtics’ first series against the Magic. In the playoffs, White continued to be a key contributor for the Celtics, providing valuable scoring and playmaking
