The Brooklyn Nets invade the State Farm Arena to battle the Atlanta Hawks on Saturday night.
Brooklyn Nets Betting Preview
The Brooklyn Nets have really struggled to get going this season as they have lost six of their first eight games but they will be looking to build some momentum after taking down the Hornets in a 114-104 home win on Wednesday. Michael Porter Jr led the team with 26 points and 10 rebounds, Julius Randle added 22 points on seven of 13 shooting while Mikel Brown Jr provided the spark off the bench with 18 points in just 20 minutes. As a team, the Nets shot 51 percent from the field and 14 of 37 from the 3-point line as they struggled for most of the first half and trailed by 10 points before they went on a 25-14 run in the fourth quarter to pull ahead and secure their first home victory of the season.
Atlanta Hawks Betting Preview
The Atlanta Hawks have been on a nice run as they’ve won four of their last five games overall and they are now gunning for a fourth straight victory after outlasting the Wizards in a 139-132 win last night. Nickeil Alexander-Walker led the team with 28 points, Lugeuntz Dort added 25 points with seven rebounds and four assists, Onyeka Okongwu tallied 22 points with 10 rebounds while Dyson Daniels chipped in with 13 points, nine rebounds and 12 assists. As a team, the Hawks shot 53 percent from the field and 16 of 38 from the 3-point line as they caught fire with 38 points in the second quarter to build a 14-point lead which proved to be just enough to hold off the Wizards who cut the lead to just one point with 3:10 left on the clock.
Brooklyn v Atlanta Free Prediction
The Nets are still missing Egor Demin and Tyler Bilodeau, while the Hawks are keeping an eye on Jalen Johnson, Keshon Gilbert, Asa Newell and Jock Landale who are all currently scheduled to return.
The Nets have really endured a tough start to the season, but they have now won two of their past three games, so it’s not like they’re pushovers like last season. The Hawks look to have moved on from their slow start and they looked solid in their narrow win over the Pacers last night, but they haven’t been great for bettors as they are only 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. I still think the Hawks do enough to get the win at home, but give me the Nets to keep this one close right till the final buzzer.
