The Minnesota Timberwolves have cooled off a bit recently as they are now looking to avoid a third straight defeat after getting beaten by the struggling Kings in a 117-112 overtime road loss on Monday. Anthony Edwards led the team with 43 points, seven rebounds and four assists on 16 of 29 shooting, Julius Randle tallied 17 points with 10 rebounds and five assists, Donte DiVincenzo chipped in with 17 points while Naz Reid contributed 15 points off the bench. As a team, the Timberwolves shot just 41 percent from the field and 13 of 42 from the 3-point line as they looked to be in control for most of the contest, before they squandered a 12-point fourth quarter lead and they shot themselves in the foot with a personal take foul, costing the team an extra point at a crucial junction in overtime.


Oklahoma City Thunder Betting Preview 


Meanwhile, the Oklahoma City Thunder have continued their red-hot start to the season as they have now won 17 of their first 18 games overall and they will be aiming for a 10th straight victory after routing the Trail Blazers in a 122-95 home win on Sunday. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the team with 37 points and seven assists on 13 of 18 shooting, Ajay Mitchell added 20 points on eight of eight shooting off the bench while Isaiah Joe chipped in with 10 points, but no other player scored more than eight points. As a team, the Thunder shot 53 percent from the field and 15 of 36 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates and dominated the first quarter by 39-18 to lead this one by as many as 36 points before they rested their starters early.

The Timberwolves don’t have any players listed on the injury report, while the Thunder are still missing Aaron Wiggins, Nikola Topic and Jalen Williams and they have Shai Gilgeous-Alexander listed as questionable for this one. It’s hard to back against the Thunder given how well they’ve been playing this season (and last season), but they could be a little vulnerable here if Gilgeous-Alexander isn’t able to suit up for this one. This is definitely a game where you should check the lineups before tipoff, but assuming that SGA sits out, I will lean towards the Timberwolves to at least keep this one close at the end.
