The Indiana Pacers are now in complete control of the series after outlasting the Knicks in a 130-121 win in Game 4 to take a commanding 3-1 series lead on Tuesday. Tyrese Haliburton led the team with a monster triple-double of 32 points with 12 rebounds and 15 assists, Pascal Siakam added 30 points on 11 of 21 shooting, Bennedict Mathurin added 20 points off the bench while Aaron Nesmith chipped in with 16 points.

As a team, the Pacers shot a healthy 51 percent from the field and 13 of 32 from the 3-point line as they stormed out of the gates with 43 points in the first quarter to take the early lead. Before they poured in another 33 points in the third quarter to lead by as many as 15 points. The Pacers didn’t get much from their bench players except for Mathurin who had his best game of the series. Andrew Nembhard had a night to forget as he shot just one of nine for his three points in 29 minutes of action.

Meanwhile, the New York Knicks really needed to throw the first punch in Game 4, but they allowed the Pacers to get off to a hot start and were always fighting an uphill battle after allowing 43 points in the first quarter. Jalen Brunson led the team with 31 points and five assists, Karl-Anthony Towns added 24 points with 12 rebounds and three assists, OG Anunoby scored 22 points while Mikal Bridges chipped in with 17 points.

As a team, the Knicks shot 46 percent from the field and 12 of 28 from the 3-point line as they suffered another slow start and had to play from behind almost the entire game. Josh Hart had a quiet game of just 12 points with 11 rebounds and five turnovers before he fouled out. The Knicks showed plenty of grit to avoid this defeat from being a blowout, but they never really had a chance after falling behind by 15 points early in the fourth quarter.

The Pacers are still missing Isaiah Jackson, and they are keeping an eye on Aaron Nesmith who is questionable for this game, while the Knicks are keeping an eye on Karl-Anthony Towns who is questionable. The Pacers were kept in check on offense so far in this series, but they were able to really flex their depth in their crucial win in Game 4 thanks to Haliburton and Mathurin really stepping up.

The Knicks were good enough to erase a 20-point deficit in Game 3 to climb into the series, but they are now on the brink of elimination following their worst defensive effort during these playoffs. The Pacers clearly hold all the momentum and the questionable status of Towns is concerning, but the Knicks are 5-1 ATS in their last six games at home coming off a loss. I think they keep their season alive, at least for one more game.
