Indiana Pacers vs New York Knicks Prediction
The Pacers weren’t really seen as contenders for most of the season, but they peaked at just the right time. They are now just four wins away from an NBA Finals berth if they can just get past the Knicks, who won two of three meetings between the teams during the regular season. It was a little surprising to see the Pacers easily beat the Bucks in the first round, and the way they exposed the Cavaliers in the Conference Semifinals was a real eye-opener. The Pacers put up some impressive numbers on offense so far in these playoffs, and they deserve plenty of credit for their improvements on the defensive end.
The Knicks were expected to beat the Pistons in the first round, but the way they beat the Celtics in the second round was truly impressive. There is a bit of a luck factor involved as the Celtics had to deal with key injuries, but the Knicks showed great resiliency to hang tough and erase two 20-point deficits to win Games 1 and 2 on the road. You can make an argument for either side in what should be a close contest, but I am leaning towards the Knicks, who to draw first blood at home in front of a packed house.
