Where to Watch: NBA League Pass

The Sacramento Kings (20-19) will face the Milwaukee Bucks (20-17) on January 14, 2025, at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. The Kings come into this matchup riding a seven-game winning streak, highlighted by a recent 124-119 victory over the Chicago Bulls. De’Aaron Fox has been leading the charge, averaging 26.6 points per game, while Domantas Sabonis continues to dominate the boards with an NBA-leading 14.2 rebounds per game, along with 20.7 points and 6.3 assists. Sacramento's offense ranks eighth in the league, scoring 116.2 points per game, and their up-tempo style is evident as they rank seventh in possessions per game.

Meanwhile, the Bucks are looking to bounce back from a 140-106 blowout loss to the New York Knicks, although they have won three of their last four games overall. Milwaukee is led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is averaging 31.4 points and 11.9 rebounds per game, and Damian Lillard, who contributes 7.3 assists per contest. While the Bucks rank sixth in the Eastern Conference, their defense will need to tighten up after a disappointing performance in their last game.

Damian Lillard Over 3.5 Three Pointers

Damian Lillard has been a significant contributor to the Milwaukee Bucks' offense during the 2024-25 NBA season. Lillard is averaging 24.8 points per game, with a field goal percentage of 44.0%. From beyond the arc, he is making an average of 3.4 three-pointers per game on 9.1 attempts, resulting in a three-point shooting percentage of 37.5%. In addition to his scoring, Lillard contributes 7.3 assists and 4.4 rebounds per game. His free-throw shooting remains exceptional, with a free-throw percentage of 91.2%.

Damian Lillard has failed to make over three three-pointers in his last two games but this is a spot I want to buy low on him. With the way the Bucks and the Kings play, I expect this to be a fast-paced high-scoring game.  The Kings are giving up 14.5 3-pointers per game to opposing teams which is the third most in the league. I can see this being a matchup where Damian Lillard is in that 5-6 three-point range.

Brook Lopez Under 4.5 Rebounds

Brook Lopez is averaging 4.7 rebounds per game, ranking 94th in the league. In addition to his rebounding, Lopez contributes 12.1 points and 1.6 assists per game, with a field goal percentage of 48.3%.

In Lopez's last game against the New York Knicks we saw him only log one rebound and in the game before that, he only had three rebounds against the Orlando Magic. Even though he's the center for this Bucks team he doesn't have a big presence in the paint. We've seen Giannis be the guy for this Bucks team when it comes to getting rebounds. I don't see this being the game where Brooke Lopez bounces back on the boards with him playing the Sacramento Kings. The Kings are giving up only 50.7 rebounds per game to opposing teams which is the sixth fewest in the whole league. He'll be going up against one of the best rebounders in the league in Sabonis.  This is a perfect spot to fade Brook Lopez on the glass.

Domantas Sabonis Over 19.5 Points

Domantas Sabonis has been a pivotal offensive force for the Sacramento Kings. He’s averaging 21.1 points per game, showcasing his scoring prowess. In addition to his scoring, Sabonis contributes significantly across the board, averaging 13.5 rebounds and 6.0 assists per game, underscoring his versatility and importance to the team's overall performance.

Sabonis has been a money maker as of late scoring 20-plus points in his last four games. I was worried that his production would slow down with De'aaron Fox back in the lineup but as we saw in his last game against the Bulls he picked up right where he left off scoring 22 points. We’ve seen a direct correlation between the Kings winning games and Sabonis having good scoring nights. If the Kings want to keep up this winning streak they'll need to continue to feed Sabonis on the offensive side of the ball.

The pick in this article is the opinion of the writer, not a PickDawgz site consensus.
