Delaware’s season got started versus Bucknell last Monday. The Hens were up 46-37 by halftime, then got outscored 48-27 from there in an 85-73 loss. Erik Timko was the leading scorer with 20 points, while John Camden added 19 points of his own.

In game two versus Robert Morris, Delaware had another halftime lead 45-43. This time the Hens were able to fend off the Colonials in the second, resulting in an 81-77 win. Niels Lane was tops with 19 points and seven rebounds.

Iona Gaels Betting Preview

Over on the Iona side, they got things started against Princeton last Monday. The Gaels were outscored 44-31 in the second half, giving away a 12-point lead at the break in an 81-80 loss. Adam Njie was the lead scorer with 19 points and six assists.

Iona fell into the loss column again versus Hofstra on Friday. The Gaels trailed 43-34 by halftime and eventually limped to a 90-76 result. Clarence Rupert led the team with 20 points, while DeJour Reaves added 12 points and six rebounds. Iona will take on Vermont, West Virginia, Cornell, and Tarleton State after this game.

I’m staying with the Hens. Delaware had a bad second half in their opener against Bucknell, but they cleaned up their act in game two. The Hens shot a nice 47.2 percent from the field in that one with 39 rebounds and eight assists. Delaware did cough up 15 turnovers though, so they’ll need to do a better job of ball control on Tuesday.

As for Iona, they shot a tepid 39.0 percent from the field in the loss to Hofstra, posting 15 turnovers of their own along the way. I like the Gaels to look a little better here with Delaware eventually powering out a cover.
