Minnesota Vikings Betting Preview

Minnesota didn’t have a whole lot of trouble versus the New York Giants in their opener. The Vikings pulled off a decisive road win in that one, taking it 28-6. Game two against the San Francisco 49ers was much closer but still a Vikings win 23-17.

Last weekend versus the Texans, Minnesota held a 14-0 lead by halftime and eventually powered out a big win 34-7. Sam Darnold logged 181 yards with four touchdowns while Aaron Jones led the rush on 19 carries for 109 yards. Justin Jefferson caught six balls for 81 yards and a score.

Green Bay Packers Betting Preview

Over on the Packers’ side, they gave up 31 points across the second and third quarters during their opener versus the Philadelphia Eagles, resulting in a 34-29 loss. Green Bay was able to right the ship somewhat in week two versus the Colts, taking a 16-10 win.

Matched up against the Titans last weekend, the Packers jumped out to a 20-7 lead by the break. Green Bay scored 10 more points from there in a 30-14 win. Malik Willis finished with 202 passing yards and a TD while also leading the rush on 73 yards and another score off six totes.

Minnesota Vikings vs Green Bay Packers Prediction

I’ll lean toward Green Bay here. The Packers had a pretty well-rounded day offensively against Tennessee but still have a couple of areas that need improving. Green Bay posted 378 total yards (188 rushing) and 6.4 yards per play but only converted five of 14 third downs and committed 10 penalties for 75 yards. The defense was great though, notching three takeaways and holding the Titans to 3-of-9 on third downs.

As for Minnesota, they didn’t have a ton of trouble with Houston in their last outing. The Vikings posted 274 total yards (118 rushing) with 19 first downs on offense but also benefitted from 11 Texans penalties for 88 yards. Divisional games are always fun, and this one should be no different. I like Green Bay to eke out the cover at home in a competitive matchup.
