Tennessee Titans Betting Preview

This year the Titans started out on a rough stretch with losses to the Bears, Jets, and Packers. After a win over the Dolphins, Tennessee lost three straight to the Colts, Bills, and Lions. The next pair were a win over the Patriots and a loss to the Chargers.

On Sunday versus the Vikings, the Titans fell behind 16-3 by halftime and eventually lost 23-13 despite a better stretch from there. Tennessee’s Will Levis threw for 295 yards, one TD, and one interception. Levis also led an anemic rush with seven carries for 18 yards.

Houston Texans Betting Preview

Over on the Texans’ side, they went 5-1 over their first six games, taking wins versus the Colts, Bears, Jaguars, Bills, and Patriots in that time. Houston would then lose to the Packers, then beat the Colts before two more losses to the Jets and Lions.

In their Monday night game versus Dallas, Houston was up by a modest 17-10 by halftime. The Texans owned the second half, however, posting 17 unanswered points in a 34-10 win. CJ Stroud threw for 257 yards and a pick, but the real hero was Joe Mixon and his 20 carries for 109 yards and three rush scores.

Tennessee Titans vs Houston Texans Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Texans. On Monday Houston posted 391 total yards (250 passing) and 21 first downs in a pretty nice overall effort against a struggling Dallas squad. The Texans’ defense gave up points in only the second quarter and the whole team finished strong with a couple of unanswered fourth-quarter scores to cap things off. That makes 22 or more points in seven of the last eight games for Houston, and it was a nice bounce-back after a tough loss to Detroit.

As for Tennessee, they’re coming off a sloppy game against the Vikings with 13 penalties for 91 yards. The Titans mustered 294 yards on offense (33 rushing) with just 11 first downs and a tepid 6-of-15 on third-down conversions. Tennessee hasn’t gotten past 20 points for six straight games, a 1-5 stretch. It’s hard to imagine the offense waking up for this one.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Houston Texans -7.5
