Indianapolis Colts Betting Preview

The Colts started out the season with losses to the Texans and Packers, then took wins in four of the next five games over the Bears, Steelers, Titans, and Dolphins. Indianapolis has lost three since then versus the Texans, Vikings and Bills.

Matched up against the Bills on Sunday, the Colts gave up 10 points in three of four quarters along the way to a 30-20 loss. QB Joe Flacco had 272 yards, two scores, and three interceptions. Jonathan Taylor led the rush with 114 yards off 21 totes.

New York Jets Betting Preview

Over on the Jets’ side, they’ve severely underperformed this year, beating only the Titans and Patriots. Otherwise, it’s been losses to the 49ers, Broncos, Vikings, Bills, Steelers, Patriots, Texans, and Cardinals for an ugly 2-8 start.

In the Cardinals game on Sunday, the Jets gave up 24 points in the first half and limped to a 31-6 defeat. QB Aaron Rodgers threw for just 151 yards. Breece Hall led the rush on just 52 yards, and Garrett Wilson caught five balls for 41 yards.

Colts vs Jets Prediction

I’ll take the Colts here. Most of that is based on a “lesser of two evils” theme, though. Indianapolis posted four turnovers and a rough 4-of-11 on third-down tries in their latest loss to the Bills. The defense gave up 415 yards (280 passing), 21 first downs, and 7-of-14 on third-down conversions, but did have a couple of takeaways.

As for the Jets, it’s safe to say their defense is overrated after posting zero takeaways, 406 yards (259 passing), 28 first downs, and 5-of-7 on third-down tries allowed in their loss to the Cardinals. The offense shares plenty of blame as well, with 207 yards (128 passing), 17 first downs, and 6-of-13 on third-down tries. New York hasn’t surpassed 22 points in any of the last seven games, including four games at 17 or fewer. I’m not sure they can compete with anyone in the league at this point.
