Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

Over the weekend, the Blue Jays took on the Oakland Athletics. Toronto lost 2-1 in the opener of that set, but then took wins 7-0 and 6-4 in the remaining pair to take the series. On Tuesday versus the Brewers, the Jays posted nine team hits in a 3-0 shutout win. Starting pitcher Yusei Kikuchi put up 5.0 clean frames with three hits and four walks.

In the starting pitcher role for the Blue Jays on Wednesday it’ll be Chris Bassitt. This year Bassitt is 6-6 with a 3.80 ERA in 13 starts. In his MLB career Bassitt is 68-48 with a 3.51 ERA in 182 games (169 starts).

Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview

Over on the Brewers’ side, they played the Detroit Tigers in their weekend series. Milwaukee won 10-0 and 5-4 in the first two games, then took a 10-2 loss in the finale. On Tuesday the Brewers could only muster five team hits and came up empty on the scoreboard. Starter Carlos Rodriguez finished with 3.2 innings, seven hits, two earned and a walk.

It’ll be Tobias Myers in the starting pitcher role for the Brewers on Wednesday. This year in his rookie campaign Myers is 2-2 with a 4.15 ERA in eight games (seven starts). He’s got 32 Ks in 34.2 innings.

Toronto Blue Jays vs Milwaukee Brewers Prediction

I’ll stay with the Blue Jays. Bassitt should be okay here. In his last three starts combined Bassitt is 2-0 with four earned runs in 18.0 total innings on 17 hits and three walks. As for Myers, he’s given up six earned over his last 16.1 innings, but five of those came in one start (a no-decision versus the White Sox).

On Tuesday the Blue Jays got a nice bullpen outing on 4.0 innings, two hits, one walk and six strikeouts. The offense was solid as well; seven different players had at least one hit. I like Toronto to keep it up on Wednesday.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Toronto Blue Jays -102
