Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

The Jays took on the Boston Red Sox in their last series. Toronto had a rough time in that set, losing in a sweep with 7-3, 4-3 and 7-3 results. In the Wednesday finale loss, the Blue Jays got 5.2 innings, four earned and four Ks from starter Kevin Gausman.

Yariel Rodriguez will take the starter role for the Blue Jays on Friday. This year Rodriguez is 0-1 with a 4.11 ERA and 16 strikeouts.

Cleveland Guardians Betting Preview

Over on the Guardians’ side, they played the Seattle Mariners in their last series. Cleveland lost the opener 8-5 but came back for an 8-0 shutout win in game two. On Thursday in the rubber match, the Guardians powered out a 6-3 win to take the series. Logan Allen went 6.0 innings in the start with three earned on four hits and four walks.

It’ll be Carlos Carrasco in the starting pitcher role for the Guardians on Friday. This year Carrasco is 2-6 with a 5.80 ERA and 44 Ks in 59.0 innings over 12 starts. Carrasco is 109-99 with a 4.11 ERA in 315 career games (268 starts).

Toronto Blue Jays vs Cleveland Guardians Prediction

I may take a stab on the Blue Jays here. Probably not touching it, though. Carrasco hasn’t been great over his last few starts. He’s 0-2 in his last three with a combined 17 hits, three walks and 12 earned runs in 13.2 total innings. Toronto should have some opportunities early if Carrasco can’t get it together.

As for Cleveland, on Thursday they had a pretty good all-around day despite falling behind on the scoreboard a couple of times. Will Brennan had three hits and a pair of solo homers, and Andres Gimenez (two RBI) went long also. Coming off a solid series, Cleveland should play well this weekend.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Toronto Blue Jays +108
