Detroit Tigers Betting Preview

The Detroit Tigers are 2-0 this year after they won games one and two by scores of 8-2 and 5-2. In game two, Detroit trailed 1-0 and 2-1, but they scored four runs in the eighth inning to escape with the win. The Tigers recorded six hits and they committed one error in the game, while they were led by McGonigle, who went 1-3 with two RBIs. Valdez allowed seven hits and one earned run over 6.0 innings in the no decision, while De Jesus got the win and Jansen picked up the save.

Last season, Detroit had a 3.95 ERA with a 1.25 WHIP and a .241 opponent batting average, while they scored 758 runs with a .247 batting average and a .316 on base percentage. Riley Green led the team with 36 home runs and 111 RBIs, while Spencer Torkelson added 31 home runs and 78 RBIs. The projected starting pitcher for Detroit is Jack Flaherty, who went 8-15 with a 4.64 ERA and a 1.28 WHIP over 161.0 innings pitched last year.

San Diego Padres Betting Preview

The San Diego Padres are 0-2 this season after they dropped game two in this series by a score of 5-2 on Friday night. San Diego took the 2-1 lead in the sixth inning and they had plenty of baserunners all night, but their bullpen fell apart in the eighth for the loss. The Padres recorded eight hits and they committed one error in the game, while they were led by Andujar and Laureano, who both had one RBI. King allowed one hit and zero earned runs over 5.0 innings in the no decision, while Estrada allowed one hit and four earned runs over 0.2 innings for the loss.

Last season, San Diego had a 3.63 ERA with a 1.21 WHIP and a .225 opponent batting average, while they scored 702 runs with a .252 batting average and a .321 on base percentage. Manny Machado led the team with 27 home runs and 95 RBIs, while Gavin Sheets added 19 home runs and 71 RBIs. The projected starting pitcher for SD is Randy Vasquez, who went 6-7 with a 3.84 ERA and a 1.32 WHIP over 133.2 innings pitched last season.

Tigers vs Padres Prediction

Detroit was able to escape with a late victory in game two on Friday night and they will look for three wins in a row here. The Tigers are starting Flaherty, who was a disaster last season, so we will see if he can turn things around. San Diego needs to find more offense and they are starting King, who was very solid in 130+ innings last year. I think this is a great spot for the Padres offense to find some footing and I like them to get the win here.
