Texas Rangers Betting Preview

This week the Rangers took on the Chicago White Sox. Texas was able to bag a sweep in that one with four straight wins. After a 6-5 loss to the Jays in the opener, on Saturday in game two the Rangers fell in a 7-3 result.

In the starter role for Sunday the Rangers will send out Jon Gray. This year Gray is 5-4 with a 3.73 ERA in 20 games (17 starts). Gray is 74-68 with a 4.40 career ERA in 225 games (221 starts).

Toronto Blue Jays Betting Preview

Over on the Blue Jays’ side, they played the Tampa Bay Rays in their last set. Toronto won 6-3 Wednesday but dropped the other pair in that set. On Saturday the Jays out-hit the Rangers 15-4 in the win.

As starter for Sunday the Jays will go with Jose Berrios. This year Berrios is 8-8 with a 4.08 ERA in 21 starts. Berrios is 91-74 with a 4.14 ERA in 233 career games (232 starts).

Texas Rangers vs Toronto Blue Jays Prediction

I’ll stay with the Rangers. Gray has been pretty solid lately. Over his last three outings combined Gray is 2-0 with four earned in 13.2 innings total. As for Berrios, he’s struggled over his last few starts, posting 12 earned runs in 14.2 innings for an 0-2 record.

On Saturday the Rangers gave up four runs in the first inning and couldn’t get much going offensively. The good news is that Texas only used three pitchers. They’ll need a much better all-around effort in Sunday’s finale regardless.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Texas Rangers -125
