St. Louis Cardinals Betting Preview

The Cardinals took on the Milwaukee Brewers in their last series. St. Louis lost the Tuesday game but came back for wins in the next pair to take the set. After a 6-1 win over Minnesota in the opener, on Saturday the Cardinals were out-hit 9-5 in a 6-0 shutout loss.

Erick Fedde will step in as the starter for the Cardinals on Sunday. So far Fedde is 8-7 with a 3.39 ERA in 25 starts. Fedde is 29-40 with a 4.92 ERA in 127 career games (113 starts).

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

Over on the Twins’ side, their last series was against the San Diego Padres. Minnesota lost the first pair of those matchups before an 11-4 win in the finale. In the Saturday game two, the Twins scored four runs in the third and never looked back.

It’ll be Zebby Matthews in the start for the Twins on Sunday. This year Matthews is 1-1 with a 3.60 ERA in the first two starts of his career.

St. Louis Cardinals vs Minnesota Twins Prediction

I’ll stay with the Cardinals. Fedde has taken losses in his last two starts though, so he’ll need a good showing here. In his latest trio, Fedde is 1-2 with a combined seven earned runs (four in one start) on 16 hits and eight walks in 16.2 innings total.

On Saturday the Cardinals couldn’t get anything going at the plate. If there’s good news, it’s that starter Sonny Gray really only had one bad inning despite his ugly line. I’m leaning St. Louis in a bounce-back Sunday but I’m not touching it.

Andrew Jett's Pick: St. Louis Cardinals +111
