St. Louis Cardinals Betting Preview

St. Louis played the Milwaukee Brewers in their last series. The Cardinals lost 3-2 on Tuesday then came back for wins in the next pair. On Friday versus the Twins, the Cards cruised to a 6-1 win.

Starter for St. Louis on Saturday will be Sonny Gray. This year Gray is 11-8 with a 3.91 ERA in 23 starts. Over 302 career games (293 starts) Gray is 109-93 with a 3.51 ERA.

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

Over on the Twins’ side, they took on the San Diego Padres in their previous set. Minnesota lost the first pair of games before a sweep-stopping win 11-4 on Wednesday. In Friday’s matchup the Twins posted five hits in the loss.

It’ll be Pablo Lopez in the start for the Twins on Saturday. This season so far Lopez has a 4.47 ERA with an 11-8 record in 25 starts. In 151 career starts Lopez is 50-47 with a 3.96 ERA.

St. Louis Cardinals vs Minnesota Twins Prediction

I’ll lean toward the Twins. Should be a good starter matchup, though. Lopez took a loss to the Cubs with four earned in 5.0 innings back on August 6. Since then Lopez is 1-0 with just two earned in 12.0 innings over two starts, though. As for Gray, he’s 1-2 in his last three with 10 earned (six in one start) in 17.0 innings.

On Friday the Twins got 3.2 innings and three earned out of starter David Festa. The bullpen was the main source of the breakdown however, and the offense didn’t provide much aid. Minnesota’s offense needs a jumpstart Saturday.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Minnesota Twins -145
