In this article, we will formulate a Rangers vs Red Sox prediction for this MLB game on Thursday, May 8th at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts. Let’s take a look at the prediction for this MLB matchup.

Texas Rangers Betting Preview

The Texas Rangers are 18-19 this year, and they have split the first two games in this series by scores of 6-1 and 4-6. In their game two loss, Texas led 2-0 in the fourth and 3-2 in the fifth, but they allowed the next four runs in the game for the loss. The Rangers recorded eight hits and they committed one error in the game, while they were led by Garcia, who went 1-3 with one home run and two RBIs in the loss. Texas started Mahle, who allowed four hits and two earned runs over 5.0 innings, while Webb allowed two hits and two earned runs in 0.2 innings for the loss.

Prior to this series, the Rangers lost two out of three against the Mariners and three out of four against the Athletics. Texas has lost five of its last seven games, and they are currently fourth in the AL West standings. The Texas pitching staff has a 3.46 ERA with a 1.17 WHIP and a .234 opponent batting average, while the offense has scored 123 runs with a .234 batting average and a .289 on-base percentage this season. Adolis Garcia has led Texas with five home runs and 20 RBIs, while Wyatt Langford has added six home runs and 14 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Texas is Jack Leiter, who is 2-1 with a 4.58 ERA and a 1.30 WHIP over 17.2 innings pitched this year.

Boston Red Sox Betting Preview

The Boston Red Sox are 19-19 this season after they won game two by a score of 6-4 on Wednesday night. Boston hit a pair of solo home runs to stay in the game early, and they dominated the late innings for the win. The Red Sox recorded 11 hits and they committed one error in the game, while they were led by Bregman and Abreu, who both had three RBIs in the win. Boston started Houck, who allowed six hits and two earned runs over 4.2 innings, while Bernardino picked up the win in relief.

Prior to this series, the Red Sox lost two out of three against the Twins and two out of three against the Blue Jays. Boston has lost five of their last seven games, and they are currently second in the AL East standings. The Boston pitching staff has a 4.01 ERA with a 1.30 WHIP and a .253 opponent batting average, while their offense has scored 186 runs with a .255 batting average and a .329 on-base percentage this season. Alex Bregman has led Boston with nine home runs and 30 RBIs, while Wilyer Abreu has added nine home runs and 25 RBIs this year. The projected starting pitcher for Boston is Brayan Bello, who is 2-0 with a 2.55 ERA and a 1.19 WHIP over 17.2 innings pitched this season.

Rangers vs Red Sox Prediction

These two teams have split the first two games in this series and will be looking for the series win here. Boston is 10-9 at home this year, while Texas is just 6-11 on the road. The Rangers have really struggled to score consistently this season, and they will face Bello, who has allowed one earned run in two of his three starts this year. On the other side, the Rangers will start Leiter, who has been decent this year, but did allow six earned runs in his last start against Seattle. I don’t love either pitcher in this game, but I can’t back this Texas offense. Take the Red Sox here.
