I’ll lean toward the Phillies here. Most of that is due to Cortes’ recent struggles on the mound. In his last three starts combined Cortes is 0-2 with 15 earned runs in 13.1 total innings. As for Sanchez, he’s dropped his last two games with five earned in 11.2 innings total.
On Tuesday the Phillies had a pretty sporadic offensive performance outside of Austin Hays and JT Realmuto. Philly used six arms out of the bullpen and didn’t end up getting the victory. Sanchez needs to eat up significant innings Wednesday to take some pressure off the pen.
