The Yankees took another series loss versus the Tampa Bay Rays this week. This time New York won the middle game Wednesday 2-1, but otherwise fell 5-3 and 5-4 to drop the set. On Friday versus the O’s, the Yankees scored three in the first three innings in a 4-1 win. Starter Gerrit Cole had a nice outing with 6.0 innings and one earned.
It’ll be Luis Gil in the starter role for the Yankees on Saturday. So far this year Gil is 9-5 with a 3.27 ERA in 18 starts. Over his 25 career starts Gil is 10-6 with a 3.40 ERA.
Baltimore Orioles Betting Preview

I’ll stay with the Orioles. Rodriguez is on a pretty good run these days. Over his last three starts Rodriguez is 3-0 with five earned runs in 19.1 total innings. As for Gil, he was struggling early this month with nine earned in an 8.1-inning span. Gil came back with 6.2 innings and one earned in his last start, but he’s still 0-3 in his last trio.
On Friday the O’s had a few sparks on offense but couldn’t keep anything going. Baltimore needs to get the bats working a little better Saturday to help out Rodriguez. I think they’ve got a pretty good shot, though.
