Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview

The Brewers played the Cleveland Guardians in their weekend series. Milwaukee won all three of those games 5-3, 2-1 and 2-0. After a 3-2 win in the opener versus the Cardinals, in game two the Brewers came back from an early 2-0 deficit to eventually lose 10-6. Tobias Myers finished with 4.0 innings and two earned as starter.

As starter for Thursday’s game the Brewers are going with Freddy Peralta. So far Peralta is 8-7 with a 4.00 ERA in 25 starts. Peralta is 50-34 with a 3.86 ERA in 171 games (122 starts) during his career.

Over on the Cardinals’ side, they played the Los Angeles Dodgers in their last set. St. Louis won 5-2 Saturday but dropped the other pair. On Wednesday the Cards scored six runs in the final two frames in a wild comeback. Kyle Gibson managed 5.1 innings and two earned runs in the start.

Miles Mikolas will start the finale for the Cardinals on Thursday. This year Mikolas is 8-10 with a 5.41 ERA in 25 starts. Mikolas is 62-63 with a 4.13 ERA in 203 career games (175 starts). The Cardinals will meet the Twins and Padres after this series.

Milwaukee Brewers vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction

I’ll stay with the Brewers. Peralta had a couple of rough starts this month, going 1-1 with eight earned in 11.0 innings. He came back with just one earned in 6.0 innings during a win over Cleveland, though. As for Mikolas, he’s struggled lately with 14 earned runs in his last 13.2 innings, going 0-2 in that trio.

On Wednesday the Brewers should have won the game before extra frames. A handful of bad innings on the mound let things get out of hand and the offense didn’t have an answer late. .I like Milwaukee to keep it rolling in the finale, with a quicker finish this time.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Milwaukee Brewers -116
