Milwaukee Brewers Betting Preview

Over the weekend the Brewers played the Cleveland Guardians in their last series. Milwaukee took a sweep in that matchup with wins 5-3, 2-1 and 2-0. In their opener versus the Cardinals, the Brewers eked out a 3-2 win. Starter Frankie Montas finished with 7.0 clean frames, one hit and one walk.

Starter for the Brewers on Wednesday will be Tobias Myers. In the first 19 games (18 starts) of his career, Myers is 6-5 with a 2.81 ERA.

St. Louis Cardinals Betting Preview

Over on the Cardinals’ side, they played the Los Angeles Dodgers over the weekend. St. Louis won 5-2 Saturday but dropped the other pair. On Tuesday the Cards couldn’t score outside of the eighth inning. Starter Erick Fedde left after 5.2 innings and two earned runs.

Kyle Gibson will start for St. Louis on Wednesday. So far Gibson is 7-5 with a 4.26 ERA in 23 starts. Gibson is 111-105 with a 4.52 ERA in 323 games (317 starts) during his career.

Milwaukee Brewers vs St. Louis Cardinals Prediction

I’ll stay with the Brewers. Myers is doing pretty well over his last three starts, notching 18.0 combined innings with just three earned runs in that time. That said, Myers is just 0-1 in that trio. As for Gibson, he’s given up 12 earned runs in 17.2 innings over his last three starts.

In Tuesday’s game the Brewers got a pretty effective—if not very exciting—offensive day. William Contreras and Sal Frelick had five of the team’s eight hits. I’d like to see Milwaukee spread the love a little better at the plate Wednesday but they should be in good shape.

Andrew Jett's Pick: Milwaukee Brewers +102
