The Milwaukee Brewers and the San Diego Padres meet Thursday in MLB action from Petco Park. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a Milwaukee Brewers vs San Diego Padres Prediction.

Starting Pitching Matchup

The Milwaukee Brewers will send out Bryse Wilson for the start here and Wilson is 4-3 with a 3.84 ERA and 50 strikeouts this season. The San Diego Padres will trot out Adam Mazur, and Mazur is 0-2 with a 7.82 ERA and 8 strikeouts this season.

Milwaukee Brewers Recap

The Milwaukee Brewers come into this one looking to build on their series win over the Los Angeles Angels after picking up a 2-0 win over the Halos in Wednesday’s series finale. The win gave the Brewers another consecutive series win after taking down the Reds and Blue Jays over the last week and a half. The Brewers will face the Rangers, Cubs, and Rockies following this series.

Brewers Finding Ways To Get It Done

Going into Wednesday’s action, William Contreras leads the Brewers with 88 hits including 17 doubles and 48 RBIs along with 9 home runs and a .366 OBP while Rhys Hoskins has 10 home runs with 28 RBIs and Willy Adames has a team-high 17 doubles with 12 home runs and 51 RBIs. Brice Turang leads the Brewers with 26 stolen bases while Adames has a team-high 68 strikeouts as well this season.

Why the Milwaukee Brewers will win

San Diego Padres Recap

The San Diego Padres will be looking to build up some momentum after ending up with a 5-2 win in Wednesday’s series finale against Philadelphia. Despite a win in the finale though, the Padres lost back-to-back series after being swept by the New York Mets last weekend. The Padres will take on the Nationals after this series.

Padres Sliding Offensively

Entering Wednesday’s matchup, Jurickson Profar leads the Padres with 82 hits along with a .320 batting average and 12 doubles with 10 homers and 47 RBIs. Jake Cronenworth has 46 RBIs while Fernando Tatis Jr. has belted a team-high 13 home runs this season. Manny Machado has 6 home runs and 33 RBIs but also has 65 strikeouts while Ha-Seong Kim has 55 hits with 3 triples, 9 doubles, 9 home runs, 35 RBIs and a team-high 14 stolen bases. Tatis Jr. also has a team-high 70 strikeouts and 8 stolen bases as well this season.

Why the San Diego Padres will win

Milwaukee Brewers vs San Diego Padres Prediction

I’m leaning towards the Brewers here. I don’t love Bryse Wilson at all and I think regression’s coming for him eventually, but the Padres just don’t have it offensively right now and are really hard to back in their current form. The Brewers at least bring their bats to play and I trust the Brewers to at least give their pitching run support, something I can’t necessarily say for San Diego right now. Give me the Brew Crew.

Chris Ruffolo's Pick: Milwaukee -115
